November is National Epilepsy Awareness Month. This diagnosis is so common there were approximately 500 new cases of epilepsy today in the US (as they are every day.) But most importantly, to me anyway, one of my besties has been plagued by these for 2/3s of her life. And the sad thing is historically, epilepsy research has been underfunded: each year, NIH spends $30 BILLION on medical research, but just 1/2 of 1% is spent on epilepsy. :(
When will my friend be spared, she has been through so much! Aly, I love you babe!!
